Louise Kaitlin

Hello again!

Today's post is something quite different from my usual posts and i have never done anything like this before on my blog, which is super exciting but also super nerve-racking!! Today's post is a collaboration with the beautiful Estelle, who i met on instagram a couple of years ago, and shared a love of pretty much everything, we are so so similar which is appropriate for this collaboration. You can find Estelle on instagram with the handle @velvetteddyblogs and also you can read her post by clicking here! - make sure to leave a nice comment & let her know you've come from my blog too!

Well, first things first i should probably introduce what this post is about. When Estelle approached me about collabing, she mentioned the idea of something food related, which if you know me is right up my street! We decided to each do a post on a place to eat from our local areas.

Choosing 1 place to eat was so so difficult because i am such a huge lunch bunny and love to eat out in all different places with my friends, but on thursday i adventured into Southampton with my uni friends and stumbled across this place called Cosmo. Basically, it's an all you can eat buffet which if those 5 little words don't bring you in then i don't know what will.

Food
Cosmo as mentioned, is an all you can eat buffet and therefore, the food selection and choice is huge! There is everything from Asian to Chinese, French, Indian, English, Italian and so so much more! All the food is set out into different sections labelled by their country or 'genre'. You can grab a plate and make your way round each section or simply start at one, eat and return for more! The quality of the food itself was way better than i thought it would be. I was slightly cautious knowing its a buffet, the assumption that the food would be sub par due to the fact the restaurant is catering for large quantities. But boy was i wrong, the food was restaurant quality, piping hot and full of seasoning.

There buffet also includes a desert section, which things such as cheesecake, cakes, donuts, ice-cream, fruit, sweeties and so much more!

Cost
Cost wise, you'll love this! especially if you're a student on a budget like me. For the buffet it cost only £8.99! For you to eat as much as you want, endless amounts, how amazing?!

Drinks cost £3 for a bottomless glass, which means like the buffet you can refill until your heart is content!

Now, if i don't say so myself that's a pretty good, cheap meal out with friends and family.

It's safe to say, I will 100% be returning to Cosmo very very soon! Ohh, and a bonus... if it's your birthday you can go to Cosmo and your meal will be FREE! Just make sure you take some ID to prove it is actually your birthday haha ;)

I hope you enjoyed this post, and i'll see you (or well talk to you) very soon!

Love From,
Lou X

Hello Everyone, today's post is another brand review, I am aware that I have done a couple of these recently but I just love testing and reviewing new brands and new products. Today's post comes from a company I personally had never heard of... 'Live Love London'. I was drawn to the name as the alliteration is pretty interesting. I began contact with Sophia who is a lovely lady that works for them, and she sent me over some products to review.

Products:

Eyeshadow Palette: I was so excited when I received this as I am a huge fan of eyeshadows and the packaging was super cute (it was rose gold) my favourite. I love how the eyeshadow palette has a huge mirror inside and this really helps when applying makeup on the go. The pigmentation of some of the eyeshadows isn't amazing but I've found that adding a little spritz of fix + or setting spray to the brush works a treat. I am thoroughly impressed with this palette and will be using it on a regular basis.

Contour Palette: When I opened the package and saw this inside, I could believe my luck, the quality and first impression of this kit was incredible. I must say when my older sister saw this she was very jealous and keeps begging me to give it to her! The palette/kit comes with 6 shades; a white powder, a purple tone highlight, 2 lighter bronze shades and 2 dark contour shades. For me the lighter shades are the only ones acceptable to wear as I have super pale skin. But nevertheless, I am in love with this palette.

Lipstick: Shade: Pink Day - I never expected to receive anything else after I saw the palettes, but sneakily Sophia had stuck in a lippy too. Initially, I wasn't keen on the shade, only because neon/bright colours are too bold for me and I cant really pull them off! Although this, I gave it a try and was impressed, the colour wasn't as bold as I thought it would be. Still not something I would choose to wear but I am sure it will come in handy for something. The consistency is creamy and glossy and leaves your lips feeling super smooth!

Overall, I am hugely satisfied with what I received, thank-you to Sophia and everyone else at 'Live Love London' for sending me some products, I will definitely be popping in to get some more of my own. I highly recommend to you guys, and Live Love London can be brought in any Bhs/Debenhams near you.

The other day, I was kindly gifted some items from 'Benecos Cosmetics'. Benecos are a natural brand of makeup who thrive on the element of their products being natural. I think it' a really cool idea to have natural products and Benecos are one of the only brands I have seen that are completely natural.

I've been trying these products sent to me for the past few days and I thought I would share with you what I thought of them. I was kindly gifted 4 items which I was allowed to choose myself, which was incredible. I chose the 'Natural BB Cream', 'Natural Blush', 'Natural Highlighting powder' and the 'Natural Lip Shine'. Below I will talk through what I loved and didn't love about each product.

Natural BB Cream
The BB Cream comes in a tube bottle which is of a medium size. When I first opened the product I was unsure of the colour as it appeared rather dark in liquid form. However, I tried it on my skin and it matched pretty well and blended nicely, the only thing I didn't really like was the smell of it. I mean its a natural product so there is obviously going to be a slightly different smell from other brands. The smell to me isn't that important though. Overall, I love the product to a point, I don't think I would purchase myself just because I don't really wear Matte BB Creams.

Natural Blush
I was sent the blush in the shade Mallow Rose which is a soft, deep mauve pink colour. It's such a pretty and flattering colour especially on my pale skin. The only fault I could find with this product is the pigmentation is a little weak and the product does have to be built up. This isn't bad for me though because it means I can work the colour to suit my pale skin. Overall, I really like this blush and I think it will become part of my everyday makeup routine.

Natural Highlighting Powder
The highlighting powder is gorgeous! I cannot believe how pretty the iridescent champagne colour is. It's super flattering for my skin and its perfect for adding that extra glow and shimmer to the tops of the cheeks, bridge of the nose and cupid's bow. The powder doesn't have a shade but if I were to name it I would go for pearl or something with that description because its perfect for paler skin.

Natural Lip Shine
I got the natural lip shine in Rusty Rose which is a lovely peach/pink shade which is perfect for an everyday look. I love the shine it has to it as its super moisturising and glossy for the lips. I love the shade as a your lips but better look and I know all of you would love this shade as much as I do. I highly recommend for those of you who like the natural looking lip colour.

Overall, I am super happy with everything I received, so thankyou Benecos.

Hello Everyone!

Long time no blogging! I believe the last post I wrote was a 'Blogmas' post and that was over 4 months ago, so I do apologise. I have been working on something very exciting which is why I neglected my blog. Basically I started a YouTube channel where I post similar things to here but in video form. I will link in below and on my blog for you guys to go check it out:)

Cutting back to the post today, I am going to be doing a L'Oréal Product Review. Just a little disclaimer, I was NOT sent these products, I brought them myself and wanted to do a little review on them considering I had never tried L'Oréal before. Let's get into the blog post...

The first item I brought was the True Match foundation in 1C, which is the lightest shade they do. As you all know I have super fair skin, so finding a foundation to match is merely impossible sometimes. However, this is the first foundation I have found that is super close to my natural skin shade and I was amazed by this because no where else (that I have tried) has a shade of my skin tone. I love the consistency and the finish it gives, its super watery and hydrating and this is perfect for my dry skin.

The second item I brought was the False Lash sculpt mascara. OMG this mascara is my new all time favourite, it is so good at lengthening and volumising the lashes. Its wand is designed to darken and line the type line and waterline and makes your eyes appear bigger and bolder. I love this mascara and I cannot fault it in one way.

The last item I brought was the Lipstick in 'JLO's nude'. I was optimistic with the lipstick because I haven't tried many lipsticks before so I didn't really know what to expect, but omg the shade is perfect for me, its a simple nude that is extremely wearable for an everyday look. I love to texture and the finish as it leaves my lips with a natural glow and hydrating look. I definitely will be back to L'Oréal for more nude lippies.

I hope you guys enjoyed the post, and I definitely recommend all products to you beauty lovers. Head over to the L'Oréal stand in your local drugstore and check out the products, I highly rate them and I know you all will love them.

Until next time...

As a lover of all things beauty i'm forever finding new things to try out. However, having sensitive skin does have it's limitations when it comes to face products and skincare, i have to be careful with my choice because unfortunately my skin reacts so easily. So for years and years i have always stuck with the boring, old, cheap makeup wipes that you can pick up for about £1 at nearly every store. After reading and hearing about the Garnier Micellar cleansing water and all it's good reviews, i thought i would bite the bullet and give it a try, at the end of the day i wasn't going to loose much in doing so.

To me taking makeup off after a long day is the single most boring chore ever, so i wanted to find something quick and efficient in removing that long lasting lipstick along with the mascara that has dried like cement to your lashes. So i picked up this bottle from my local Boots and it was on deal, so hello bonus! it cost me about £4? maybe a bit less and later that day i decided to try it.

This is what it looks like to remove the makeup(SEE BELOW). The build up of foundation and dirt along with some bronzer and those on fleek eyebrows can be clearly seen to be removed. I was amazed at how quickly it did its job, i mean at the end of the day its 'water' right? Eye makeup is probably the hardest thing to remove, as i said before, mascara is like cement at the end of the day. And as you can see from the image below it was removed so easily and completely. I did give it 2 cleans but the second time there was hardly any there.

Left is the removal of EYE MAKEUP
Right is the removal of FACE/BASE MAKEUP
At the end of the day, the main purpose is to remove your makeup, which it does really well, other than that it really does just seem like water in a bottle (which by all means is NOT a bad thing) but actually quite good.

This post was not part of a collaboration nor was this product sent to me by a company, all products in this post were brought with my own money, and all reviews as always are my own opinions.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and i will speak to you all soon.

Hello again, the other day i was randomly searching through amazon for makeup brushes/sets, when i came across these '10 piece professional makeup brushes'. When i saw the word 'professional' i was expecting the price to be pretty high, was i wrong?. These brushes cost me £1.99 and free postage, however i did have a £5 voucher so they were retailed for £6.99 and i thought today i would review them for you, in case you wanted to purchase them but had a few worries, i know i do when i buy online.

This set comes with 5 eye brushes, which are; a hard pointed brush, a fluffy flat edge brush, an angled hard brush, an angled fluffy brush and a normal fluffy brush. I find these brushes are super easy to use and surprisingly they don't malt or leave any unwanted bristles on your face. I like the 2 fluffier brushes as they make blending eye shadows inside and outside the crease really easy and looks flawless. The pointed brush i use for concealer around the eyes and i love it, it blends well and is easy to get into those difficult spots. Overall, i am super happy with the result of these eye brushes.

The set also comes with 5 face brushes, which are; a pointed brush, a flat top brush, a round top brush, a short bristle stippling brush and an angled round brush. I find all these brushes can be used for multiple things, from foundation to powders, to blushers and bronzers, so there is no set purpose for these. Again, these brushes haven't malted or left unwanted bristles stuck to your face, so i'm pretty impressed considering the price was as low as it was.

Overall, i am super happy with my choice for these brushes, if you want the link to the brushes comment below and i'll comment back the link. I don't want to include it here, because i am not sponsoring them in any way. All opinions are my own and i wouldn't review anything to you that i didn't really like.

(LEFT TO RIGHT)
'Powder Brush', 'Stipler Brush', 'Foundation Brush', 'Smokey eye duo Brush'

Hiya lovelies, so I'm back with another review type post. For Christmas, I was given some make-up brushes from my lovely mum and when I opened them I thought she had spent a considerable amount of money on the very famous 'Real Technique' brushes, but I was fooled! They we'rent branded brushes, in fact they were from 'Wilkinson's' which shocked me extremely.

I looked online and these brushes are retailed at a very cheap £3.99 ish, and they look exactly like 'Real Techniques'. The quality of these brushes are incredible, I was surprised because I thought the bristles in the brushes would be falling out everywhere (like usual 'cheaper' brushes) but they didn't. I actually prefer these brushes because they are so much softer and are much better are applying make-up with.

Overall, I am so happy with these brushes and will definitely be returning to buy some more.

*let me know in the comments what brand are your favourite make-up brushes*

Rimmel London Match Perfection in 010 Light Porcelain
Rimmel London Wake Me Up in 100 Ivory
Maybelline Super Stay 24 in 010 Ivory
Natural Collection in Ivory

Today I thought I would share with you my top 4 foundations ranging from cheaper drug-store products to a little more expensive. I use foundation on a regular basis so finding the perfect match for me is the most important thing when shopping for make-up. So here I have a few that I've tried and tested.

Rimmel London Match Perfection is an amazing foundation and I find its one of my favourites. It applies really easy and doesn't leave that annoying shiny look like some foundations do. This is the lightest of all my foundations and that's because naturally I have a pale complexion, so because of this I find the lighter colour much better looking when applied.

Rimmel London Wake Me Up is a good foundation that give good coverage. However, I find this foundation feels heavy on my skin, and throughout the day I feel it looks cakey. This foundation is in a darker shade because I feel it gives better coverage this way, I recommend this for those who plan of using small amounts of foundation on a regular basis.

Maybelline Super Stay 24 is slightly more expensive for what it is. All I can really say about this foundation is that it does what it says on the bottle. It covers and gives a brown more warm looking shade to your face. I do like this foundation but its not my favourite, I feel I've over looked it and I might start trying it again.

Last but not least, is the Natural Collection foundation and for me this is my least favourite foundation as again its heavy and feels cakey. Its also very liquid like, so is super runny when applying, so it ends up making more of a mess then doing good. I also found with this foundation that it made my skin slightly more spotty and unhealthy, so as soon as I realised I stopped using this. But this might not happen to everyone, I just have VERY sensitive skin, emphasise on the VERY.

430 Coralicious (LEFT)
504 Distict-ly come dancing (MIDDLE)
415 Instyle coral (RIGHT)

So, its coming towards the end of the summer, the weather is changing, its getting darker outside and I thought I would share with you my top 3 favourite nail polishes I have used throughout this summer. As you can see they all happen to come from the same brand! They are the 'Rimmel London 60 Second' nail polishes, and they come in a range of colours, I have mentioned up there the colour names and numbers.

So to start on the left, its a coral colour that has a main base colour of red. This is striking and bold and fits nicely with many other colours. I have used this nail polish regularly throughout and I'm currently wearing it now;) This colour I definitely recommend for those who want to make a statement but also want to keep it cool and summery, I will definitely carry on using this next year!

The one in the middle, has to be my all time favourite colour, not only does it have a pretty cool name(READ ABOVE) but it looks amazing on. It is a light blue/green colour that you could call turquoise, all though its more blue. Like I said, it looks amazing on and I definitely recommend it.

The last one is a more pink colour, that fits right in with the summer season, its gloss gives a shine to the pink making it stand out and look gorgeous with lots of outfits. Again it is a coral colour but isn't as orange as an original coral colour, it has more of a pink/peach base, which I really do like.

Overall, I definitely recommend this brand of nail polish because it does dry in 60 seconds like it says and they have a full range of colours for all seasons from summer to winter. I have only these 3 but there are plenty more colours available so if none of these are for you, there is many more to choose from.

I hope you enjoyed this review, I know I have done 2 reviews in a row, but I have something special planned for you guys in a week and a bit. So stick around, keep checking my page as it will be coming soon! I love you all as always, and thankyou for reading.

Feel free to leave some comments below, I love all yours opinions and suggestions, so please take the time to leave a comment, I reply to all comments so don't feel like its a waste of time because it isn't!!

Bye. xxxx
