Long time, no speak my friends!

Today's post is a little different from anything I've ever done, its a how i battle dry skin, in hope that this helps some of you out there that have asked me questions on this topic.

So, I do suffer from dry skin, which is on my forehead, and little parts on my face. I haven't always suffered but last year, when I went on holiday I burnt really bad and ever since then my skin has been super dry. There's a few products/techniques that I use in order to not cure but control the problem, which are:

1. washing your face is a must!! you need to remove all bacteria and product from your face otherwise by adding cream on top, all you'll do is block your pores.

2. substituting foundation for a BB cream or CC cream. I find when I apply foundation it makes the problem 10x worse and I end up just removing it all. So, I use 'NYC BB cream' which is a very lightweight foundation/cream, it does give coverage but obviously not as much as a foundation but it can be paired with concealer to add some more coverage where needed.

3. cream, cream and more cream. As stupid as it sounds but the reason your skin is dry is because it has no moisture left in it, so ADD it back in. I use three different creams, all shown above. I use the 'Dove Cocoa Cream' before applying my makeup for the day. I use the 'Dirty Works Body Butter' at night and finally I use the 'Body Shop Body Lotion' once I've removed my makeup in the evening. So yes, I do use a lot of cream and I know for some people this won't work and will block pores, but my skins become used to this routine and actually benefits a lot from it.

There my main tricks and tips for battling the annoying little pest of dry skin, obviously this is for people that have lack of moisturized skin and not for people with eczema or any other medical skin condition, so if its a case of basic dry skin, definitely try these products, as i'd love to see if it works for anyone else in a similar situation.

Hello again, this post is my current makeup wishlist and this is a collab with the ever so gorgeous Liv, so after you finished reading my post, head on over to her blog to check hers out!

My current makeup wishlist consists of the following products:

1. Naked 3 by Urban Decay- I've been wanting this palette for ages now, I love the pink colours and I love how versatile this palette can be.

2. Nars 'Orgasm' blush- not particularly fond of the name, but i love the subtle pink glow this gives off and i think its perfect for spring time.

3. Nyx 'milk' eye pencil- this seems like a weird thing to put on a wishlist but i love this pencil for lining the lower waterline as it gives off a fresh, bright look.

4.Nyc bronzer- I've been looking for a really subtle/natural bronzer and after i swabbed this i fell in love, it looks super natural on the skin which is perfect for summer bronzing.

5. Rimmel London, Kate Moss '107' lipstick- this lipstick is more for the autumn/ winter time but I've wanted it for ages and i think i can make it work by lightening it slightly for the spring time.

6. L'oreal True Match foundation- this foundation is supposedly really 'dewy' and highlighting, and as unfortunate for me i suffer from dry skin on my forehead(thanks to me burning like crazy last summer) this foundation is meant to be moisturizing and appear as a light coverage.

7. Anastasia Dip Brow- i have fair skin, therefore my hair is quite fair too, so i do lack in the eyebrow department and this is meant to be really natural and the different shades are meant to match your skin personally.

8. Body Shop BB cream- again with the dry skin, having a BB cream as an alternative to a foundation i find is much more flattering in the spring and summer time, so this would be perfect for a light coverage along with some concealer.

There all my current makeup products on my wishlist, there are more things but these are the ones at the top. Hopefully i'll be able to purchase some in the future and you'll be able to see them on my blog or my instagram.

How could you celebrate Easter without a chocolate cake? Todays post is a simple cake recipe, specifically decked out for the Easter celebration.

Ingredients and Measurements:

All my measurements are in oz's because i have a real old fashioned scale.

12 oz of self raising flour
12 oz of caster sugar
12 oz of baking butter/margarine
6 oz of coca powder
6 oz icing sugar
6 large eggs
3 packets of mini eggs
1 pot of Betty Crocker 'Chocolate Icing'
1 packet of chocolate fingers.

Recipe:

So, i used a basic cake recipe from my mum, but i made triple the amount because they're 3 cakes stacked together.

PRE HEAT YOUR OVEN, MINE WAS ON GAS MARK 6

CAKE
1. add the butter and sugar to a bowl, beat together until a creamy consistency.
2. add the eggs, one at a time and beat together until mixed.
3. sieve the flour in small portions and fold into the mixture using a metal spoon.
4. separate out 2 baking pans worth of mixture.
5. add coca powder to the remaining mixture and fold in well.
6. place all cake tins into the oven for around 15 minutes (time is different for all ovens)

INSIDE BUTTER CREAM
While the cakes are cooking, take 6 oz of butter and put into a bowl, gradually add icing sugar until preference with sweetness. This will be added to stick the cakes together later, once they have cooled.

Once the cakes have cooled, paste the butter cream between each layer and stack on top of each other making sure its straight. Leave to rest for about 5 minutes.

DECORATING
Take the icing from Betty Crocker and begin to place all over the cake, it needs to be a thick layer because we are going to use it as glue for our decorations. Once all the icing is used, leave to rest for 5 minutes.
Take the chocolate fingers and stick them around the outside of the cake, this is going to create out basket/gate. Then take the packets of mini eggs and place them all over the top of the cake, as many as preferred. I USED 3 PACKETS!

Leave to cool in the fridge for around 1 hour, this will give the icing time to harden.

EATING
THEN EAT THE WHOLE CAKE AND ENJOY IT, ITS EASTER!

I hope you enjoyed this post, its my first ever recipe/baking post and i really enjoyed making it. If you'd like to see more comment below and they'll definitely be some more in the future!

Hello again, the other day i was randomly searching through amazon for makeup brushes/sets, when i came across these '10 piece professional makeup brushes'. When i saw the word 'professional' i was expecting the price to be pretty high, was i wrong?. These brushes cost me £1.99 and free postage, however i did have a £5 voucher so they were retailed for £6.99 and i thought today i would review them for you, in case you wanted to purchase them but had a few worries, i know i do when i buy online.

This set comes with 5 eye brushes, which are; a hard pointed brush, a fluffy flat edge brush, an angled hard brush, an angled fluffy brush and a normal fluffy brush. I find these brushes are super easy to use and surprisingly they don't malt or leave any unwanted bristles on your face. I like the 2 fluffier brushes as they make blending eye shadows inside and outside the crease really easy and looks flawless. The pointed brush i use for concealer around the eyes and i love it, it blends well and is easy to get into those difficult spots. Overall, i am super happy with the result of these eye brushes.

The set also comes with 5 face brushes, which are; a pointed brush, a flat top brush, a round top brush, a short bristle stippling brush and an angled round brush. I find all these brushes can be used for multiple things, from foundation to powders, to blushers and bronzers, so there is no set purpose for these. Again, these brushes haven't malted or left unwanted bristles stuck to your face, so i'm pretty impressed considering the price was as low as it was.

Overall, i am super happy with my choice for these brushes, if you want the link to the brushes comment below and i'll comment back the link. I don't want to include it here, because i am not sponsoring them in any way. All opinions are my own and i wouldn't review anything to you that i didn't really like.

I've never done a current fotd post before on my blog, so i thought i'd try something new. This fotd post is a collab with the ever so gorgeous Gabriella! Her blog is amazing and she is a true inspiration to me, so go check it out and leave her a lovely comment http://gabriellalovesxo.blogspot.co.uk/

My Current Daily Products:
Rimmel London - Match Perfection Foundation
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
NYC BB Cream
Rimmel London Natural Bronzer
W7 In the Buff, Natural Nudes Eyeshadow Pallette
Miss Sporty Studio Lash Mascara
Rimmel London Colour Rush Lip Crayon- In the shade: 'not an illusion'

My everyday makeup routine is usually based around these products, the steps i follow are below:

First i apply a thin layer of 'NYC BB Cream' focusing mostly on my forehead and T Zone.
Then i apply my 'Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation' all over my face, making sure its completley blended down my neck and around my hairline.
I set this with my 'Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder' focusing on my T Zone and chin.
I like to add some colour to my face using the 'Rimmel London Natural Bronzer' where i will either contour a little of just add some of the powder around my face.
I then take my 'W7 In the buff' eyeshadow palette and take the 2 lightest shades and apply to my eyelid as a base, i then take one of the browns or golds to add into the crease of my eye and blend out.
I like to finish my eyes using 'Miss Sporty mascara' in black and apply a few coats on both my upper and lower lashes.
To finish the look i like to add a coat of my favourite lipstick/crayon, the 'Rimmel London Lip Crayon in not an illusion' this gives off a lovely pink/coral shade and can be made darker by applying more.

Rimmel London 'Naural Bronzer'
MUA 'Twelfth Night' eyeshadow palette
Rimmel London colour crayon in 'Not an illusion'
NYC 'BB Cream' in 001 light
Rimmel London 'Match Perfection' foundation

There have been a lot of you asking me for my top drugstore products, so i have picked out 5 of them for you today. Everyone has those times when you're struggling with money but you are in desperate need of new makeup. Well, there are many drugstores out there today that provide you with cheap but good quality makeup.

The first product i have chosen to be in my top 5 is the 'Rimmel London Natural Bronzer'. I've always struggled with getting a bronzer light enough for my pale skin, that doesn't look orange, when i stumbled across this one by Rimmel costing only £5.99. I tried it and i feel in love instantly! its not a shimmer or glittery bronzer but it's not completely matte either so it gives you a really subtle brown tone to your face. I use this for warmer up my face as well as contouring just a little with it. I would definitely recommend this to those who are looking for a subtle bronzer for an everyday basis.

Next, has to be my all time favourite at the moment, it's the 'MUA Twelfth Night palette' now i haven't been a huge fan of eye shadows, mainly because i'm too lazy and impatient to apply it, but i was drawn to this especially being only £4. It includes mainly shimmer/glitter shadows but they have an element of matteness to them as well. I really like the deep forest green and purple/plum colour for crease shading. This is definitely for those who don't use a lot of eye shadow but once in a while was to change their look up a bit.

Now the next product seems like it was made for me. I struggle with extremley dry skin on my forehead and around my eyebrows, it is worse in the winter! so i tend to not want to apply foundation where its dry because it can become flaky and not very nice, so this bb cream is perfect for me because its more of a moisturizer with a bit of colour than a foundation, its extremely lightweight but does give decent coverage. This was only £3.99 which is one of the cheapest BB creams i have stumbled across.

When i do want to wear foundation for a little more extra coverage, i tend to stick to one and thats the Rimmel London Match Perfection foundation as i find it gives quite a dewy finish but can easily be matted out with some powder. I have the lightest shade there is which is 010 Light Porceline which i find is enough for my skin colour. This foundation is £6.99 and has lasted me AGES.

So i skipped out a product and left it to last because i want to emphasize how much i LOVE this product. Now i wasn't a huge lippy fan before i found this. This is the Rimmel London colour crayon in 'Not an illusion' which is a lipstick mixed with a lip shine and lip balm. It has an incredible shine to it and moisturizes the lips so well, These can be added in huge amounts for a strong colour, or can be added lightly for a subtle look and they only cost £5.99. They do a range of colours and i'm obsessed okay?

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and have found my recommendations helpful. Down below i have pictures of the eye shadow palette close up so you can see the colours properly and also i have swabbed the lip crayon in a image down below too.

*I hope these extra images were helpful!*
