Louise Kaitlin

Well hello. Its been a minute! I've missed blogging so much, so here i am ready to start my blogging journey once again. When i look back on my blog, one type of post stands out that i've written year after year... and that is my summer makeup faves.

So here we are at the end of August and so much has happened this summer! My makeup reoutine has changed constantly over the last few months to fit the changes in my life.

Base

Primer
Primer has always been one of those products i've been hesitant about. Maybe it's because i haven't found one i like and know works yet. But nevertheless, i've been using the Collection Prime and Ready in Apricot. I love the consistency of this primer, it's super light weight and gives you a glowy finish.

Foundation
The chosen foundation for today's post, i'm ngl is probably my all time favourite foundation ever! I use it every single day that i'm wearing full face makeup. It's lightweight and blends like a dream. The L'oreal True Match Foundation has such a huge colour range also, which is fab! The tone of this foundation is Neutral meaning it isn't too pink and isn't too warm, which is ideal for my fair skin.

Concealer
I'm sure most of you won't be suprised by my pick for concealer. The Collection Lasting Perfection concealer in Fair has been my go to since 2013/2014. The colour is perfect for me and the consistency once again is perfect - a thick but blendable texture that covers all those blemishes (thankyou mask acne).

Hydrating Mist
I've chosen a slightly different product to include here as i tend not to use a setting spray anymore. This Superdrug Vitamin E face mist is perfect at keeping that skin glowly, and controlling the cakey ness of the makeup throughout the day. A quick spritz of this gorgeous smelling mist will leave you glowing ear to ear all day.

Bronzing and Highlighting
Bronzer
I love bronzer! Especially during the summer, it really helps that summer bronze goddess glow out of you. I love this W7 Honolulu bonzer that i was kindly gifted. As you can see by the packaging it is a dupe for the Benefit bonzer but at a much cheaper price. The only gripe i have with this bronzer is it is slightly too warm for me persoanlly so i have to be careful only to use a small amount of product.

Highlighter
Quite possibly my favourite step of my makeup routine is highlighter. It's safe to say sometimes i can occassionally go a little bit overboard with my highlight but i just can resist the glow!!! This Revolution highlighter is the perfect go to for that glow from within look. Highlight recommend Revolution for their highlighting products, they're super affordable and come in so many different shades.

Eyes
Eyeshadow
One of my favourite eyshadows palettes for summer is hands down the Makeup Revolution Flawless Decadent palette. It is filled with the most dreamy oranges, peaches and pinks! There is a shade for every single kind of summer look in here from full dramatic glam to an everyday wash of pink. My favourite shades include: Sienna, Sundown, Blush and Glimmer - a mixture of matte's and glitters.

Mascara
Once again, i'm sure you won't be suprised by my pick for mascara here. The Maybelline Lash Sensational has been my go to mascara for years! The applicator is soft but firm and coats the lashes giving them a full but long effect. If you haven't tried this mascara yet, where have you been?

Lips
Lipbalm
I'm going to keep this one short but sweet, but if you don't have a lipbalm through the dry summer months then what are you doing? I simply use the Vaseline Cocoa Butter one to keep my lips smooth and glossy through those hot months. Nothing special here, but can't live without my lipbalms.

Lipstick
Nyx has always been one of my favourite makeup brands! I remember when the first Nyx stall opened in my local boots and i may have gone a bit crazy and brought one of everything haha! My current favourite is the Soft Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabi. It's a mix of a warm pink, orange and brown shade all rolled into one! What more could you want in a lipstick?

I hope you enjoyed seeing inside my summer makeup bag this year. Let me know below in the comments you're favourite makeup product this summer, i'm always on the look out for new things to try!

Lots of Love,
Lou x

Changing my makeup bag over from winter to summer is the most exciting thing ever! I love having a revamp with my everyday makeup look to suit the season. I usually do one of these every year and so here is 2018's "What's in my summer makeup bag?".

First things first, I want to clarify that i do not wear makeup everyday and recently i've been battling with my skin which you can read about in my post about coming off the contraceptive pill. So, i am trying my hardest to not coat myself in makeup when i don't need to.

Base:
Foundation is a hard one because when its boiling hot the last thing i want to do is apply a foundation that's bound to melt off half way through the day but when I'm having a bad skin day, i feel like i need some coverage to make myself look some what presentable. I usually opt for the L'oreal True Match Foundation in the shade 1N as its super light and runny and therefore, it's not too cakey and thick for a summers day.

Concealer is a must whatever time of year. Once again the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer has made its way into my makeup bag. If you've never heard of this product then where have you been? It's probably one of the most raved about concealers of all time. I use the shade Light as its perfect for my pale complexion. What's also great about this is the coverage it gives! My oh my! It can literally cover ANYTHING! And to top it off, its so cheap and can be brought in Superdrug or Boots.

Bronzer is also a must in order to look like a bronzed goddess. This W7 Honolulu bronzer is b e a u t i f u l... honestly such a gorgeous warm toned shade that brings shape and definition to your face. I usually go a bit crazy with this and put it everywhere because you can't be too tanned can you?

Again, another staple in my summer makeup bag is a good highlighter and the one i've chosen is actually part of a palette. This palette is the Makeup Revolution Good as Gold palette that comes with 4 different highlighter shades (the big square pans) and 8 eyeshadow shades (the smaller pans in the middle). My favourite highlighter shade is the two you can see in the photo. A beautiful champagne white colour which is blinding! and a gold which is slightly warmer and adds to that bronzed goddess look ;)

Eyes:
For eyes, i keep it very simple and very natural during the summer. I tend to head towards my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette as the shades are all light pinks, golds and browns which are extremely complimentary during the summer season. Love love love love!

Keeping with the simple natural theme, i tend to next only apply mascara. My all time fave through thick and thin (if that's the saying) is the Maybelline Lash Sensational. OMG! Again, another product that is highlight raved about online. This mascara is not only thickening, its lengthening and bold. It really brings my makeup together!

Lips:
Lips change a lot of the time too. I have so many different gorgeous nude shades but i've chosen this deeper pink colour to share with you because of its formula. Its the Maybelline Lipstick in 630 "Velvet Beige". Its formula is super hydrating and smooth, it's not glossy but its not matte. Its a nice in between consistency and that's why i've been drawn to it so much this summer.

I've also included a lip balm because i think it's super important to keep your lips hydrated and protected from the sun during the hot months. This one is the Nivea lip balm, super simple and super cheap. It has added SPF which is also a bonus because who wants burnt lips?

Last note... I know a lot of you will ask, my makeup bag is from Primark and was £5. Its a beautiful white with little flowers and gold accents on the front and it's the perfect size. If you want a better picture of it, there's bound to be one on one of my instagrams (linked all over my blog, literally!)

I really hope you enjoyed reading this blog post, as always leave a comment and i'll reply to everyone! See you next time.

Love From,
Lou X

Lipsticks, Lipgloss, Lip balm, Liquid Lippy, Matte Lippy... there's so many to choose from. So where do we start? Well, nude for me is the best way (not sure that sounded as good as it did in my head) but you can't go wrong with a nude colour.

Here are my top 5 nude lipsticks from the drugstore (aka Superdrug and Boots):

1. Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade "Abu Dhabi" (Cost: £6) - love love love this lip colour. Its a muted nude, with an orange and brown undertone. The creamy formula dries matte on the lips and lasts for hours. Nyx have a wide range of colours ranging from reds to pinks to purples and nudes. Head to boots and check them out, I highly highly recommend.

2. Maybelline Lipstick in the shade "630 Velvet Beige" (Cost: £6.99) - this lippy has a sheen finish, not glossy nor matte but rather a moisturising creamy feel. This colour as a little deeper and of a purple undertone compared to the Nyx lip cream. Again, I really love this one for an everyday look when I don't want a matte finish.

3. MUA Velvet Lip Lacquer in the shade "Tranquillity" - (Cost: £3) - this comes in the form of a liquid lipstick. The colour is a little more peachy than it appears in the tube. Nevertheless, the lipstick applies wet to start with and within seconds starts to dry fully into a matte finish. The one critique I would have of this lipstick is how dry it really does set, it almost flakes and sinks into the lines on your lips. But you can't complain seeing as how cheap this really was.

4. L'oreal Exclusive Collection Lipstick in the shade "JLOs Nude" (Cost: £7) - This is the most expensive one out of my top 5 picks. However, the quality and colour of this lippy is my all time fave. The colour is a really light natural nude, perfect for everyday. The finish of the lipstick is a light sheen, very moisturising on the lips. Perfect perfect p e r f e c t!!!!!

5. Tanya Burr Liquid Lip in the shade "Martha Moo" (Cost: £5.99) - This one is the brightest shade, probably not a true nude colour but nevertheless I really wanted to include it in this post. Again, as a liquid lipstick it is applies quire runny onto the lips but dries into a gorgeous matte deep pink shade. Unlike the MUA liquid lipstick, this one does not dry flaky or clingy to the lips. It leaves a matte finish without the drying element which to me sounds like the perfect matte finish.

Overall what can I say? There's such a massive range of nude lipsticks in the drugstore, each of which come with different applications and different finishes. All you have to do is find the right one for you!

Leave a comment to your favourite lipstick brand as i'm intrigued to find a new fave lippy!

Lou X

How on Earth are we in June already? I feel as though the New Year has sped by in the blink of an eye. Quick changing seasons means my everyday makeup routine has been all over the place, with new products surfacing that I never thought I would ever come to use. Today's post is simply that... my everyday makeup routine that is appropriate for this hot sunny weather we are having (ps, as I'm writing this it's currently 32C outside).

Base

Primer
Over the past few months, I've developed a love for primer. I never used to apply primer as I genuinely thought they were a waste of time. However, after seeing the 3 for 2 on Barry M makeup, I thought I would give one a go and low and behold it actually does work. The Barry M primer is £5.99 and I decided on sticking with the original option. This primer is not only good at keeping your makeup on all day, its pore minimising, skin smoothing and matifies the skin too. I highly recommend to those of you looking for an inexpensive primer that really does do something.

Foundation
For me finding a foundation that is pale enough for my skin tone is impossible. If its not too orange its too pink... until I came across the GOSH X-Ceptional Wear foundation. The colouring is perfect for those of you with pale skin that doesn't have a particular undertone. Its definitely a thicker foundation but doesn't have a particularly good coverage so I can imagine this bottle is going to run out very quickly. However, applied with a damp beauty blender and a decent concealer then I think it does the job perfectly.

Concealer
Moving nicely on to concealer, no surprise here but my favourite for this time of year (who am I kidding, all year round) is the Collection Lasting Perfection in the shade FAIR. My my my, if you know me you'll know I get through tubes and tubes of this stuff. Full coverage and pale is just what I need and this little beauty does the trick.

Setting Spray
Setting your makeup especially in warmer weather is key to keeping it looking fresh all day. This Makeup Revolution one is specific for oil control and I love to use it when I feel as though my face is melting. The smell isn't great but hold your nose and you'll be fine:)

Bronzing and Highlighting

Bronzer
My favourite bronzer for this time of year is no heck of a doubt, the Makeup Revolution bronzer in the shade Golden Days. PERFECT for that bronzed goddess look, super natural and warm which will leave you looking as though you've spent the week in the maldives!!!

Highlighter
Highlighting for me had never really been a big thing, I just find highlighter doesn't suit my face. However, this Benecos natural highlighter is perfect for a subtle glow that looks as though its coming from within your skin rather than a chunk of glitter on your face. Benecos products are beaut, I've reviewed them before if you fancy a read.

Eyes

Eyeshadow
One of my fave palettes for summer is hands down the Naked 3 Palette, the gorgeous pinks really are the epitome of summer. I love these colours as they are super flattering on any skin tone and any eye colour. Mixing the shimmery golds and pinks together make a perfect everyday look, whilst adding one of the matte browns into the crease to add edge and a night time feel. Love love love this palette.

Mascara
Surprise Surprise, just like every other beauty blogger out there, the one I've chosen is Maybelline Lash Sensational. It really is the best mascara I've ever used. Its volumising and lengthening which is hard to find both in one mascara.

Lips

Lipstick
L'oreal do my favourite lipsticks. They have a huge range of colours for all skin tones with different finishes such as matte and satin. This one is in the shade 'JLo's' Nude which to me says it all. Its a perfect light pink colour with a glimmer of iridescent sparkle. It makes your lips super hydrated and glossy. I definitely need to purchase some more of L'oreal's nude lippies.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post, I know one of my most viewed posts is a FOTD so I thought you might like this. Leave a comment as to what is your favourite summer makeup product this month.

Hello everyone! Today's blog post is going to be my 'What I got for my 18th Birthday'. So my birthday was on Tuesday 3rd May and I officially became an adult (scary much!). I wasn't expecting anything for my birthday other than the jewellery which I chose myself a few weeks before. However, my parents surprised me with some more goodies. I just want to put a disclaimer out there, that i am in no way bragging or boasting, this post has been highly requested, so i'm doing it for you.

Firstly, like i said previously, the jewellery part of my presents I did actually know I was getting it as my grandma and mum took me shopping so i could chose what i wanted. I received the necklace from my grandma and the ring from my mum. (I have include some photos below of the actual jewellery). I am very grateful for these pieces as i know they were rather expensive.

The next present I received was a pandora voucher from my little brother, this was really sweet of him because he never normally gets people presents because he's young and doesn't earn any money. I was extremely surprised and i will be using it on a charm for my bracelet.

I also received the Naked 3 Palette by Urban Decay from my big sister, which i was again no way expecting as i was surprised she knew i wanted one. Thank you Bex for getting me this and i will be using it religiously over the upcoming months. (ps this is my first ever 'high end' makeup, which is super exciting).

My mum also got me some of the novelty's that we receive every year, which included a big badge to wear out;) and a keyring and champagne glass with '18' on it, which is really sweet and will be one of those things i treasure.

The last present I received, was the most unexpected and amazing thing ever! My dad surprised me with the new Macbook 12" in Rose Gold. This was unbelievable when i opened it because my dad used to always tell me he couldn't afford a Macbook because they are overpriced. For him to get me the NEW one that has just come out is amazing and i absolutely love it! THANK YOU DAD XX

That is everything i received, it isn't much but to me it is perfect. As we get older the presents get smaller and less and that is completely understandable. Thank you to all my family for everything you got me, i am ever so grateful!

Hello Everyone, today's post is another brand review, I am aware that I have done a couple of these recently but I just love testing and reviewing new brands and new products. Today's post comes from a company I personally had never heard of... 'Live Love London'. I was drawn to the name as the alliteration is pretty interesting. I began contact with Sophia who is a lovely lady that works for them, and she sent me over some products to review.

Products:

Eyeshadow Palette: I was so excited when I received this as I am a huge fan of eyeshadows and the packaging was super cute (it was rose gold) my favourite. I love how the eyeshadow palette has a huge mirror inside and this really helps when applying makeup on the go. The pigmentation of some of the eyeshadows isn't amazing but I've found that adding a little spritz of fix + or setting spray to the brush works a treat. I am thoroughly impressed with this palette and will be using it on a regular basis.

Contour Palette: When I opened the package and saw this inside, I could believe my luck, the quality and first impression of this kit was incredible. I must say when my older sister saw this she was very jealous and keeps begging me to give it to her! The palette/kit comes with 6 shades; a white powder, a purple tone highlight, 2 lighter bronze shades and 2 dark contour shades. For me the lighter shades are the only ones acceptable to wear as I have super pale skin. But nevertheless, I am in love with this palette.

Lipstick: Shade: Pink Day - I never expected to receive anything else after I saw the palettes, but sneakily Sophia had stuck in a lippy too. Initially, I wasn't keen on the shade, only because neon/bright colours are too bold for me and I cant really pull them off! Although this, I gave it a try and was impressed, the colour wasn't as bold as I thought it would be. Still not something I would choose to wear but I am sure it will come in handy for something. The consistency is creamy and glossy and leaves your lips feeling super smooth!

Overall, I am hugely satisfied with what I received, thank-you to Sophia and everyone else at 'Live Love London' for sending me some products, I will definitely be popping in to get some more of my own. I highly recommend to you guys, and Live Love London can be brought in any Bhs/Debenhams near you.

The other day, I was kindly gifted some items from 'Benecos Cosmetics'. Benecos are a natural brand of makeup who thrive on the element of their products being natural. I think it' a really cool idea to have natural products and Benecos are one of the only brands I have seen that are completely natural.

I've been trying these products sent to me for the past few days and I thought I would share with you what I thought of them. I was kindly gifted 4 items which I was allowed to choose myself, which was incredible. I chose the 'Natural BB Cream', 'Natural Blush', 'Natural Highlighting powder' and the 'Natural Lip Shine'. Below I will talk through what I loved and didn't love about each product.

Natural BB Cream
The BB Cream comes in a tube bottle which is of a medium size. When I first opened the product I was unsure of the colour as it appeared rather dark in liquid form. However, I tried it on my skin and it matched pretty well and blended nicely, the only thing I didn't really like was the smell of it. I mean its a natural product so there is obviously going to be a slightly different smell from other brands. The smell to me isn't that important though. Overall, I love the product to a point, I don't think I would purchase myself just because I don't really wear Matte BB Creams.

Natural Blush
I was sent the blush in the shade Mallow Rose which is a soft, deep mauve pink colour. It's such a pretty and flattering colour especially on my pale skin. The only fault I could find with this product is the pigmentation is a little weak and the product does have to be built up. This isn't bad for me though because it means I can work the colour to suit my pale skin. Overall, I really like this blush and I think it will become part of my everyday makeup routine.

Natural Highlighting Powder
The highlighting powder is gorgeous! I cannot believe how pretty the iridescent champagne colour is. It's super flattering for my skin and its perfect for adding that extra glow and shimmer to the tops of the cheeks, bridge of the nose and cupid's bow. The powder doesn't have a shade but if I were to name it I would go for pearl or something with that description because its perfect for paler skin.

Natural Lip Shine
I got the natural lip shine in Rusty Rose which is a lovely peach/pink shade which is perfect for an everyday look. I love the shine it has to it as its super moisturising and glossy for the lips. I love the shade as a your lips but better look and I know all of you would love this shade as much as I do. I highly recommend for those of you who like the natural looking lip colour.

Overall, I am super happy with everything I received, so thankyou Benecos.

Hello Everyone!

Long time no blogging! I believe the last post I wrote was a 'Blogmas' post and that was over 4 months ago, so I do apologise. I have been working on something very exciting which is why I neglected my blog. Basically I started a YouTube channel where I post similar things to here but in video form. I will link in below and on my blog for you guys to go check it out:)

Cutting back to the post today, I am going to be doing a L'Oréal Product Review. Just a little disclaimer, I was NOT sent these products, I brought them myself and wanted to do a little review on them considering I had never tried L'Oréal before. Let's get into the blog post...

The first item I brought was the True Match foundation in 1C, which is the lightest shade they do. As you all know I have super fair skin, so finding a foundation to match is merely impossible sometimes. However, this is the first foundation I have found that is super close to my natural skin shade and I was amazed by this because no where else (that I have tried) has a shade of my skin tone. I love the consistency and the finish it gives, its super watery and hydrating and this is perfect for my dry skin.

The second item I brought was the False Lash sculpt mascara. OMG this mascara is my new all time favourite, it is so good at lengthening and volumising the lashes. Its wand is designed to darken and line the type line and waterline and makes your eyes appear bigger and bolder. I love this mascara and I cannot fault it in one way.

The last item I brought was the Lipstick in 'JLO's nude'. I was optimistic with the lipstick because I haven't tried many lipsticks before so I didn't really know what to expect, but omg the shade is perfect for me, its a simple nude that is extremely wearable for an everyday look. I love to texture and the finish as it leaves my lips with a natural glow and hydrating look. I definitely will be back to L'Oréal for more nude lippies.

I hope you guys enjoyed the post, and I definitely recommend all products to you beauty lovers. Head over to the L'Oréal stand in your local drugstore and check out the products, I highly rate them and I know you all will love them.

Until next time...

Autumn and winter have to be one of my favourite times of the year, i love the cosy jumpers, hot chocolate and of course CHRISTMAS!

When it hits September i like to re vamp my makeup routine and make it more appropriate to the time of year. I love gold and orange eyes with red or berry lips. So today i am showing you one of my favourite autumnal makeup looks.

Products Used:

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in 'Eternal Gold'.

MUA eyeshadow palette in 'Twelfth Night'.
Maybelline liquid eye liner.
Kate Moss lipstick in 110.

I've used the colour tattoo as my base and emphasized the colour using the golden shade from the MUA palette. I also i have added a winged liner as i feel this really vamps and exaggerates the look. I'm not that great at doing liquid liner so sometimes i just won't bother. Either way it still looks amazing.

I have paired the eye look with a bright red lippy. This makes me feel really christmassy and i love it.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and i'm hoping to do more makeup look posts in the future.

As a lover of all things beauty i'm forever finding new things to try out. However, having sensitive skin does have it's limitations when it comes to face products and skincare, i have to be careful with my choice because unfortunately my skin reacts so easily. So for years and years i have always stuck with the boring, old, cheap makeup wipes that you can pick up for about £1 at nearly every store. After reading and hearing about the Garnier Micellar cleansing water and all it's good reviews, i thought i would bite the bullet and give it a try, at the end of the day i wasn't going to loose much in doing so.

To me taking makeup off after a long day is the single most boring chore ever, so i wanted to find something quick and efficient in removing that long lasting lipstick along with the mascara that has dried like cement to your lashes. So i picked up this bottle from my local Boots and it was on deal, so hello bonus! it cost me about £4? maybe a bit less and later that day i decided to try it.

This is what it looks like to remove the makeup(SEE BELOW). The build up of foundation and dirt along with some bronzer and those on fleek eyebrows can be clearly seen to be removed. I was amazed at how quickly it did its job, i mean at the end of the day its 'water' right? Eye makeup is probably the hardest thing to remove, as i said before, mascara is like cement at the end of the day. And as you can see from the image below it was removed so easily and completely. I did give it 2 cleans but the second time there was hardly any there.

Left is the removal of EYE MAKEUP
Right is the removal of FACE/BASE MAKEUP
At the end of the day, the main purpose is to remove your makeup, which it does really well, other than that it really does just seem like water in a bottle (which by all means is NOT a bad thing) but actually quite good.

This post was not part of a collaboration nor was this product sent to me by a company, all products in this post were brought with my own money, and all reviews as always are my own opinions.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and i will speak to you all soon.

Hello again, so a few days ago i was looking through my audience stats and noticed that one of my most popular blog posts EVER was my 'current fotd' which i posted a few months ago. So i thought why not do another one for you, as it has changed slightly for the summer.

Products Used:

NYC 'BB cream' in light.

Rimmel London 'Wake me up' concealer in ivory.
Rimmel London 'Natural bronzer' in sunny bronze.
Collection 'Volumising mascara' in black.
Maybelline 'Colour tattoo' in Eternal Gold.
Essence lip liner.
Essence lipstick in natural.
Maybelline colour drama.

Explanation:

I usually prefer to use a light coverage for my base in the summer because of the warm weather. That's why i use a BB cream over a foundation. I like to use a bit of concealer to cover any blemishes or unevenness in my skin. Where i will then bronze up, i tend to use a bronzer over blusher as i feel it looks better under direct sunlight. I like to use a basic eyeshadow which is brightening, i head more towards golds and pinkey/champagne colours. Where i will top it all off with some mascara that will make my lashes look natural and long. For lips i like to go with pink/nude colours as it isn't too much of a statement and can look a little more natural. I have chosen 3 which are listed and pictured above, i will have swatches on my instagram soon, if you like to see.

Thankyou for reading and i really hope you guys like this post as much as my previous FOTD. Leave some comments on your favourite products for summer, or what you like the look of from my selection. Speak to you all soon xxx

Hello my lovelies!

Today's post is a collab with the ever so gorgeous Sara from http://saralouloves.blogspot.co.uk/. We decided that today we would do a summer makeup essentials for you all, so go check Sara's post out after reading mine, as i'm sure it'll be great!

Summer Makeup Essentials

I usually start my makeup on a summers day with my Dove 'summer glow, nourishing lotion' which is almost like a self tanner, however it's gradual and matches to your natural skin tone, this means it doesn't go orange or too dark but gives off a natural shimmer.

I then like to move on to a BB cream and this one i use if by NYC and it's in the shade light. I tend to head towards a BB cream over a foundation because i don't like the way a foundation on a hot day almost melts off my face, so i stick with a light weight coverage.

I like to up my coverage using a concealer, which is the Rimmel London 'Wake me up' concealer in light and i like to use this to cover up any redness of blemishes that the cream didn't cover, i don't go too heavy with this because it is slightly darker than the cream so i have to make sure i blend super well.

Using a bronzer to me is a must and i prefer this over a blusher, just because, as i am naturally fair skin toned i have quite a bit of redness from the sun so i feel a blusher is too much. Therefore, i add some bronzer around my face to warm it up and give off a natural glow. The one i have chosen is Rimmel London 'natural glow'.

When it comes to eye-shadows i don't use a lot, I've chosen this one today which is by the brand 17 and is in the colour 'Cadillac' and it is a soft pinky/purple colour. I like the use this as it warms up my eyes and mattes them out so they don't get greasy in the sun.

Now choosing lipsticks to me is always the hardest part of my makeup routine and this is because there's so much choice. However, today i have chosen 2 of my most used during the summer time. Again by the brand 17 in the colour 'dreamy' which is a bright pink which compliments my eye colour well. I have also chosen a orangery/red/coral colour which is Rimmel London Kate Moss in '110' and this is probably my most used as it is super bright and super summery.

That concludes my summer makeup essentials, i really hope you enjoyed this post and have found some new products to test out. Make sure you check Sara's post, the link is in the intro. I will speak to you all soon!

Long time, no speak my friends!

Today's post is a little different from anything I've ever done, its a how i battle dry skin, in hope that this helps some of you out there that have asked me questions on this topic.

So, I do suffer from dry skin, which is on my forehead, and little parts on my face. I haven't always suffered but last year, when I went on holiday I burnt really bad and ever since then my skin has been super dry. There's a few products/techniques that I use in order to not cure but control the problem, which are:

1. washing your face is a must!! you need to remove all bacteria and product from your face otherwise by adding cream on top, all you'll do is block your pores.

2. substituting foundation for a BB cream or CC cream. I find when I apply foundation it makes the problem 10x worse and I end up just removing it all. So, I use 'NYC BB cream' which is a very lightweight foundation/cream, it does give coverage but obviously not as much as a foundation but it can be paired with concealer to add some more coverage where needed.

3. cream, cream and more cream. As stupid as it sounds but the reason your skin is dry is because it has no moisture left in it, so ADD it back in. I use three different creams, all shown above. I use the 'Dove Cocoa Cream' before applying my makeup for the day. I use the 'Dirty Works Body Butter' at night and finally I use the 'Body Shop Body Lotion' once I've removed my makeup in the evening. So yes, I do use a lot of cream and I know for some people this won't work and will block pores, but my skins become used to this routine and actually benefits a lot from it.

There my main tricks and tips for battling the annoying little pest of dry skin, obviously this is for people that have lack of moisturized skin and not for people with eczema or any other medical skin condition, so if its a case of basic dry skin, definitely try these products, as i'd love to see if it works for anyone else in a similar situation.

Hello again, this post is my current makeup wishlist and this is a collab with the ever so gorgeous Liv, so after you finished reading my post, head on over to her blog to check hers out!

My current makeup wishlist consists of the following products:

1. Naked 3 by Urban Decay- I've been wanting this palette for ages now, I love the pink colours and I love how versatile this palette can be.

2. Nars 'Orgasm' blush- not particularly fond of the name, but i love the subtle pink glow this gives off and i think its perfect for spring time.

3. Nyx 'milk' eye pencil- this seems like a weird thing to put on a wishlist but i love this pencil for lining the lower waterline as it gives off a fresh, bright look.

4.Nyc bronzer- I've been looking for a really subtle/natural bronzer and after i swabbed this i fell in love, it looks super natural on the skin which is perfect for summer bronzing.

5. Rimmel London, Kate Moss '107' lipstick- this lipstick is more for the autumn/ winter time but I've wanted it for ages and i think i can make it work by lightening it slightly for the spring time.

6. L'oreal True Match foundation- this foundation is supposedly really 'dewy' and highlighting, and as unfortunate for me i suffer from dry skin on my forehead(thanks to me burning like crazy last summer) this foundation is meant to be moisturizing and appear as a light coverage.

7. Anastasia Dip Brow- i have fair skin, therefore my hair is quite fair too, so i do lack in the eyebrow department and this is meant to be really natural and the different shades are meant to match your skin personally.

8. Body Shop BB cream- again with the dry skin, having a BB cream as an alternative to a foundation i find is much more flattering in the spring and summer time, so this would be perfect for a light coverage along with some concealer.

There all my current makeup products on my wishlist, there are more things but these are the ones at the top. Hopefully i'll be able to purchase some in the future and you'll be able to see them on my blog or my instagram.

Hello again, the other day i was randomly searching through amazon for makeup brushes/sets, when i came across these '10 piece professional makeup brushes'. When i saw the word 'professional' i was expecting the price to be pretty high, was i wrong?. These brushes cost me £1.99 and free postage, however i did have a £5 voucher so they were retailed for £6.99 and i thought today i would review them for you, in case you wanted to purchase them but had a few worries, i know i do when i buy online.

This set comes with 5 eye brushes, which are; a hard pointed brush, a fluffy flat edge brush, an angled hard brush, an angled fluffy brush and a normal fluffy brush. I find these brushes are super easy to use and surprisingly they don't malt or leave any unwanted bristles on your face. I like the 2 fluffier brushes as they make blending eye shadows inside and outside the crease really easy and looks flawless. The pointed brush i use for concealer around the eyes and i love it, it blends well and is easy to get into those difficult spots. Overall, i am super happy with the result of these eye brushes.

The set also comes with 5 face brushes, which are; a pointed brush, a flat top brush, a round top brush, a short bristle stippling brush and an angled round brush. I find all these brushes can be used for multiple things, from foundation to powders, to blushers and bronzers, so there is no set purpose for these. Again, these brushes haven't malted or left unwanted bristles stuck to your face, so i'm pretty impressed considering the price was as low as it was.

Overall, i am super happy with my choice for these brushes, if you want the link to the brushes comment below and i'll comment back the link. I don't want to include it here, because i am not sponsoring them in any way. All opinions are my own and i wouldn't review anything to you that i didn't really like.

I've never done a current fotd post before on my blog, so i thought i'd try something new. This fotd post is a collab with the ever so gorgeous Gabriella! Her blog is amazing and she is a true inspiration to me, so go check it out and leave her a lovely comment http://gabriellalovesxo.blogspot.co.uk/

My Current Daily Products:
Rimmel London - Match Perfection Foundation
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
NYC BB Cream
Rimmel London Natural Bronzer
W7 In the Buff, Natural Nudes Eyeshadow Pallette
Miss Sporty Studio Lash Mascara
Rimmel London Colour Rush Lip Crayon- In the shade: 'not an illusion'

My everyday makeup routine is usually based around these products, the steps i follow are below:

First i apply a thin layer of 'NYC BB Cream' focusing mostly on my forehead and T Zone.
Then i apply my 'Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation' all over my face, making sure its completley blended down my neck and around my hairline.
I set this with my 'Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder' focusing on my T Zone and chin.
I like to add some colour to my face using the 'Rimmel London Natural Bronzer' where i will either contour a little of just add some of the powder around my face.
I then take my 'W7 In the buff' eyeshadow palette and take the 2 lightest shades and apply to my eyelid as a base, i then take one of the browns or golds to add into the crease of my eye and blend out.
I like to finish my eyes using 'Miss Sporty mascara' in black and apply a few coats on both my upper and lower lashes.
To finish the look i like to add a coat of my favourite lipstick/crayon, the 'Rimmel London Lip Crayon in not an illusion' this gives off a lovely pink/coral shade and can be made darker by applying more.

Rimmel London 'Naural Bronzer'
MUA 'Twelfth Night' eyeshadow palette
Rimmel London colour crayon in 'Not an illusion'
NYC 'BB Cream' in 001 light
Rimmel London 'Match Perfection' foundation

There have been a lot of you asking me for my top drugstore products, so i have picked out 5 of them for you today. Everyone has those times when you're struggling with money but you are in desperate need of new makeup. Well, there are many drugstores out there today that provide you with cheap but good quality makeup.

The first product i have chosen to be in my top 5 is the 'Rimmel London Natural Bronzer'. I've always struggled with getting a bronzer light enough for my pale skin, that doesn't look orange, when i stumbled across this one by Rimmel costing only £5.99. I tried it and i feel in love instantly! its not a shimmer or glittery bronzer but it's not completely matte either so it gives you a really subtle brown tone to your face. I use this for warmer up my face as well as contouring just a little with it. I would definitely recommend this to those who are looking for a subtle bronzer for an everyday basis.

Next, has to be my all time favourite at the moment, it's the 'MUA Twelfth Night palette' now i haven't been a huge fan of eye shadows, mainly because i'm too lazy and impatient to apply it, but i was drawn to this especially being only £4. It includes mainly shimmer/glitter shadows but they have an element of matteness to them as well. I really like the deep forest green and purple/plum colour for crease shading. This is definitely for those who don't use a lot of eye shadow but once in a while was to change their look up a bit.

Now the next product seems like it was made for me. I struggle with extremley dry skin on my forehead and around my eyebrows, it is worse in the winter! so i tend to not want to apply foundation where its dry because it can become flaky and not very nice, so this bb cream is perfect for me because its more of a moisturizer with a bit of colour than a foundation, its extremely lightweight but does give decent coverage. This was only £3.99 which is one of the cheapest BB creams i have stumbled across.

When i do want to wear foundation for a little more extra coverage, i tend to stick to one and thats the Rimmel London Match Perfection foundation as i find it gives quite a dewy finish but can easily be matted out with some powder. I have the lightest shade there is which is 010 Light Porceline which i find is enough for my skin colour. This foundation is £6.99 and has lasted me AGES.

So i skipped out a product and left it to last because i want to emphasize how much i LOVE this product. Now i wasn't a huge lippy fan before i found this. This is the Rimmel London colour crayon in 'Not an illusion' which is a lipstick mixed with a lip shine and lip balm. It has an incredible shine to it and moisturizes the lips so well, These can be added in huge amounts for a strong colour, or can be added lightly for a subtle look and they only cost £5.99. They do a range of colours and i'm obsessed okay?

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and have found my recommendations helpful. Down below i have pictures of the eye shadow palette close up so you can see the colours properly and also i have swabbed the lip crayon in a image down below too.

*I hope these extra images were helpful!*

(LEFT TO RIGHT)
'Powder Brush', 'Stipler Brush', 'Foundation Brush', 'Smokey eye duo Brush'

Hiya lovelies, so I'm back with another review type post. For Christmas, I was given some make-up brushes from my lovely mum and when I opened them I thought she had spent a considerable amount of money on the very famous 'Real Technique' brushes, but I was fooled! They we'rent branded brushes, in fact they were from 'Wilkinson's' which shocked me extremely.

I looked online and these brushes are retailed at a very cheap £3.99 ish, and they look exactly like 'Real Techniques'. The quality of these brushes are incredible, I was surprised because I thought the bristles in the brushes would be falling out everywhere (like usual 'cheaper' brushes) but they didn't. I actually prefer these brushes because they are so much softer and are much better are applying make-up with.

Overall, I am so happy with these brushes and will definitely be returning to buy some more.

*let me know in the comments what brand are your favourite make-up brushes*

Rimmel London Match Perfection in 010 Light Porcelain
Rimmel London Wake Me Up in 100 Ivory
Maybelline Super Stay 24 in 010 Ivory
Natural Collection in Ivory

Today I thought I would share with you my top 4 foundations ranging from cheaper drug-store products to a little more expensive. I use foundation on a regular basis so finding the perfect match for me is the most important thing when shopping for make-up. So here I have a few that I've tried and tested.

Rimmel London Match Perfection is an amazing foundation and I find its one of my favourites. It applies really easy and doesn't leave that annoying shiny look like some foundations do. This is the lightest of all my foundations and that's because naturally I have a pale complexion, so because of this I find the lighter colour much better looking when applied.

Rimmel London Wake Me Up is a good foundation that give good coverage. However, I find this foundation feels heavy on my skin, and throughout the day I feel it looks cakey. This foundation is in a darker shade because I feel it gives better coverage this way, I recommend this for those who plan of using small amounts of foundation on a regular basis.

Maybelline Super Stay 24 is slightly more expensive for what it is. All I can really say about this foundation is that it does what it says on the bottle. It covers and gives a brown more warm looking shade to your face. I do like this foundation but its not my favourite, I feel I've over looked it and I might start trying it again.

Last but not least, is the Natural Collection foundation and for me this is my least favourite foundation as again its heavy and feels cakey. Its also very liquid like, so is super runny when applying, so it ends up making more of a mess then doing good. I also found with this foundation that it made my skin slightly more spotty and unhealthy, so as soon as I realised I stopped using this. But this might not happen to everyone, I just have VERY sensitive skin, emphasise on the VERY.
