Louise Kaitlin

Hello again!

Today's post is something quite different from my usual posts and i have never done anything like this before on my blog, which is super exciting but also super nerve-racking!! Today's post is a collaboration with the beautiful Estelle, who i met on instagram a couple of years ago, and shared a love of pretty much everything, we are so so similar which is appropriate for this collaboration. You can find Estelle on instagram with the handle @velvetteddyblogs and also you can read her post by clicking here! - make sure to leave a nice comment & let her know you've come from my blog too!

Well, first things first i should probably introduce what this post is about. When Estelle approached me about collabing, she mentioned the idea of something food related, which if you know me is right up my street! We decided to each do a post on a place to eat from our local areas.

Choosing 1 place to eat was so so difficult because i am such a huge lunch bunny and love to eat out in all different places with my friends, but on thursday i adventured into Southampton with my uni friends and stumbled across this place called Cosmo. Basically, it's an all you can eat buffet which if those 5 little words don't bring you in then i don't know what will.

Food
Cosmo as mentioned, is an all you can eat buffet and therefore, the food selection and choice is huge! There is everything from Asian to Chinese, French, Indian, English, Italian and so so much more! All the food is set out into different sections labelled by their country or 'genre'. You can grab a plate and make your way round each section or simply start at one, eat and return for more! The quality of the food itself was way better than i thought it would be. I was slightly cautious knowing its a buffet, the assumption that the food would be sub par due to the fact the restaurant is catering for large quantities. But boy was i wrong, the food was restaurant quality, piping hot and full of seasoning.

There buffet also includes a desert section, which things such as cheesecake, cakes, donuts, ice-cream, fruit, sweeties and so much more!

Cost
Cost wise, you'll love this! especially if you're a student on a budget like me. For the buffet it cost only £8.99! For you to eat as much as you want, endless amounts, how amazing?!

Drinks cost £3 for a bottomless glass, which means like the buffet you can refill until your heart is content!

Now, if i don't say so myself that's a pretty good, cheap meal out with friends and family.

It's safe to say, I will 100% be returning to Cosmo very very soon! Ohh, and a bonus... if it's your birthday you can go to Cosmo and your meal will be FREE! Just make sure you take some ID to prove it is actually your birthday haha ;)

I hope you enjoyed this post, and i'll see you (or well talk to you) very soon!

Love From,
Lou X

When I look back on my blog, over the years there has always been 1 specific topic post that seems to do the best in terms of views, comments and interactions. The original post was titled 'Organisation Tips for Blogging' which I believe I posted back in 2015. In 2016, I did an updated version where I discussed some new ideas on how I keep up to date with blogging. A lot has changed in a year and previously 3 years from the original post, so I thought I would do an updated updated blogging organisation tips (that's not a great title but you get the idea).

Being a full time undergraduate student at university is stressful in itself, but combine that with working part time, volunteering and trying to maintain some kind of social life (note i said some kind) makes life even more hectic. With assignment dates here and there, I must admit i do find it very difficult to make time for blogging. But i've come up with the best way for me, to at least help maintain some kind of clear direction when it comes to sitting down and writing something.

Notebooks
What can i say? Who doesn't like buying cute new stationary? I know I do! With university being 99% computer and online based, it makes it very difficult to have a good excuse to buy some cute supplies. But... blogging gives me that little bit of justification i need ;)

I usually have 2 notebooks to use. The biggest A4 one is kept at home ALWAYS. It does not leave the house purely for the reason it holds many a secret for my blog and i know if i lost it or left it somewhere i'd be devastated. The smaller A5 notebook is the complete opposite. It comes EVERYWHERE with me. For those days where i'm sitting on the train to uni and a blog post idea pops into my head and i immediately want to start planning. Weirdly enough, this little notebook has become very useful in the car too. It's weird but when i'm driving i get all these great ideas and must write them down before i forget. (Don't worry, i always pull over somewhere safe before i whip the little book out!)

Phone/Apps
Living in 2018, its safe to say pretty much every single person has access to a mobile phone on the go. I mean if you're like me, you will not leave the house without it in your hand. This little handy device is great for when you really are stuck with writing a spur of the moment idea down. Also, there are many many apps you can download that are targeted to bloggers, helping you keep all your ideas in one place.

I also use my phone for scheduling what days and times i will upload my blog posts. I must admit sometimes i don't stick to a schedule because some days i want to just sit and write and upload all in one go regardless of whether it fits into a particular time slot. But keeping up to date with days you have time to upload is very important when it comes to maintaining a continuous upload.

All my university assignments, lecture times and volunteering slots are all stored in my phone calendar, so adding when i want to or more importantly when i have time to write a blog post is important. Whip out your phone ladies and gents and start scheduling your life.

Similar to phones, why not schedule and plan on your laptop. At the end of the day most of us probably use a computer or laptop to upload photos and actually write blog posts, so find an app to download to help keep it all in one place.

*

I hope you guys enjoyed this little spur of the moment blog post. You all seemed to really love my other one so i really hope you enjoy this one too!

Let me know of any other blogging organisation ideas you have by commenting below this post as i love love love hearing what you guys have to say and maybe one of your guys' ideas might make its way into my little schedule.

Love From,
Lou X

If you’re like me then finding a new TV show to watch is super exciting!

Summer is around the corner which means 6 weeks of relaxing, chilled but also boring days that require a time passer and what’s better than binge watching a new series with a pot of Ben & Jerry’s cookie dough in front of you?

I can hear your answer… “nothing” right?

Well, here are my top 5 TV shows I am loving right now (I have such a broad TV schedule, so these 5 include a range of different genre shows).

First, I have been L O V I N G…
Bondi Rescue. If you love anything surf or Australian related then you’ll love this show.

Synopsis: It’s about a team of lifeguards on Australia’s most famous beach ‘Bondi’ and the show follows around their day to day lives of rescuing people from the water, caring for people across the beach as well as showing their laughs and jokes between them.

Where can I watch? You can find this show on CBS Reality or Channel Ten.

Secondly, I have been obsessed with…
Casualty. If you’re more into the soap dramas than this show will be for you.

Synopsis: It’s about an A & E department, with every episode following a group of doctors, nurses and everything in between. Most episodes include a big accident or storyline that involves an incident which brings people to the department. It’s very hard to describe but trust me… it’s great!

Where can I watch? You can find Casualty on BBC One every Saturday at 9pm.

Up next is…
Grey’s Anatomy. Again, another medical drama but different.

Synopsis: A group of interns who are learning to become surgeons are put through their paces by their resident teachers. This show follows the same group of characters through their lives as interns into residents whilst following their ups and downs, romances and break ups with a few shootings, explosions and oh so many more tragedies.

Where can I watch? You can find Grey’s on Sky Living or as a Sky Boxset. (Also, online too if you don’t have access to Sky)

The fourth show is…
Love Island. Now if you’re from England and you’ve never heard of Love Island then where on Earth have you been?

Synopsis: Love Island follows a bunch of hot single boys and girls who are looking to find love. The islanders (as they are called) are situated in a villa where they take part in challenges and tasks to find love and potentially ‘couple up’ with them. Just a head’s up, there is swearing and sexual references in the show, so just take that into consideration…

Where can I watch? You can find Love Island every night at 9pm on ITV 2 or series 1 and 2 have been recently uploaded to Netflix.

LAST BUT BY NO MEANS LEAST…
Our Girl. I’ve saved my favourite for last because I can’t express how much I love this show.

Synopsis: This show is about a girl named Georgie Lane who is a medic in the army, she is deployed to various countries and aspects of war with her team called 2-section. The show follows a different storyline each series. Episodes include dealing with humanitarian crisis to battling terrorists and helping war torn countries deal with disaster.

My favourite actors and actresses are a part of this show which makes for an amazing cocktail of people. These include: Michelle Keegan, Ben Aldridge, Olly Rix, Sean Ward and Luke Pasqualino.

Where can I watch? You can find Our Girl on BBC One on Tuesdays at 9pm. Or you can find all series on the BBC iPlayer too.

So, there they are. My top 5 TV shows at the moment. Obviously, they might not be your cup of tea but I definitely recommend giving them a chance.

Let me know of any TV shows you’re loving right now as I’m always interested in finding new things to watch and I’d love to also know if any of you watch these shows I’ve mentioned.

Love From,

Lou X

This quote has become such a significant part of my life.

2017 has been a strange year for me, so many ups but also so many downs.

I've accomplished so much this year but I've also struggled more than ever, both physically and mentally.

This year, I have made it half way through my degree, quit my job, strengthened my friendships and most importantly i've become happier. But don't get me wrong there have been so many negative moments in 2017, so many hard times but guess what? I made it through and so have you.

This post was very impromptu but I wanted to share with you guys, how I managed to kick anxiety in the ass and start to re-build my life. Some of you may have read my previous post, around this time last year about understanding and admitting to social anxiety. With my first year at university and living in halls being a nightmare, and making the massive decision to move home and travel to and fro university. At first I had initial regret and was extremely hard on myself because I missed so much by living at home, but as time went on I learned to accept my decisions and make the best out of every situation. 2017 has definitely been the year where I've learnt to let go and live, stop worrying about little things and just be free. This is something i've definitely come along way with but I'm still learning (just like you).

Moral of this post, is to show you that YOU CAN DO IT. Stop worrying and enjoy life, as cliche as it sounds, life really is too short and unpredictable. Let go and try it, you never know you may like it ;)

Let's make 2018 another year full of happiness and joy, spread love and positivity. Leave the negative, horrid thoughts behind.

Happy New Year my lovelies.

Around a year ago, I wrote a blog posted titled 'Organisation Tips for Blogging' and to this day it is still one of my most viewed and commented blog post. As we approach 2017, I think I need to take a leaf out of my own book and organise my blogging life. If you're like me and find it hard to fit in some time to write a blog post, then maybe these tips will motivate you to reorganise and plan your blogging life.

A notebook for me is the best way of motivating myself to plan out new and interesting blog posts in detail so when it comes to the time of writing, I know exactly what I'm writing and including. A visually interesting to look at notebook always helps me stay motivated and the one included in these images is the Zoella 'Once Upon a Time' notebook which can be brought from Superdrug. It was £14 and was the best purchase I've made for a notebook. Within the lined pages there are inspirational quotes which help me keep going through those bloggers block moments.

Similarly, a diary of some kind is always helpful to keep up to date with when you're going to post, in terms of both times and dates. Having a diary also allows me to see if I'm posting too many of one type of blog post too often such as too many beauty/makeup posts next to each other. I use the same diary for blogging as I do for my university assignments and lecture dates and times, as I find having everything in one place is best for me.

Lastly, it's the 21st century and everyone under the age of 20 has some kind of mobile device with them. So why not use your phone to set reminders/make notes on the go? Its easy and I'm guessing you always have your phone in your hand, just like I do? (haha). Make use of this and download apps for notes and blogging, its so simple yet so obvious.

I hope i've inspired or given you fellow bloggers or busy bee's like me to keep organised and prepared for 2017.

Hello Everyone! Long time no speak and all, how's everyone doing? I hope you're all well. A lot has changed for me over the past few months, I've sat my exams and guess what? I got into university! I am studying Early Childhood Education Studies at my first choice University. Although I was excited to come and emerge myself into the lifestyle of a university student, it hasn't come without its ups and downs. As I'm writing this I'm currently wishing I was at home (yes it's got that bad).

Living in halls, is quite possibly the biggest and most difficult thing I've ever had to do... EVER! I was never really one for wanting to live in halls, but my mum told me I had to give it a try before I can make a judgement on it. So that's what I've done. I moved in on Sunday 18th September (2016) at around 10am, the day had only just started but I had already been an emotional wreck the night before and all morning before I left the house. We did the usual playing tetris with the car to fit all the bags and boxes in, which we did! We took the 40 minute journey (roughly), where I picked up my keys and headed down to the accommodation to unload my stuff (at this point I was feeling physically sick, and shaking). Long story short, I unloaded and unpacked and my mum said she was leaving, this is where I became truly upset, I burst out crying uncontrollably (like a toddler does). I couldn't bring myself to accept that I wasn't going to be living at home anymore:(

Anyway, the days went on and since Sunday, I have been on the phone to my mum every night crying about how much I want to come home. Living in halls is just not for me, I want to study for a degree but I don't want to live here! It has nothing to do with my flat mates (so if you're reading 'hello' it has nothing to do with you, you're all so so so lovely), its to do with my personality and suffering with social anxiety. I'm trying to fit in but its hard when the first week is freshers which involves clubbing and partying which is another thing I HATE. I've made some lovely friends on my course and just around the uni and I am very thankful for that.

Needless to say, i'm not entirely sure what this blog post was or what it was for, but I needed time to fill and somewhere to express my feelings. I'm hoping that if you're reading this and are currently at university and are feeling just like me, then this may help in you knowing you're not alone! Or if you're reading this in 2020, then 'hey' from the past, you're not alone either!

If you are struggling with the decision to go to university or you're at university and aren't enjoying yourself, then please do feel free to message me via my instagram @hiyaimlouu as I'm happy to help in the best way I can. I'll keep you all up to date with how my life is going but for now i'm off to burn some toast like a typical university student, goodbyeeeeeee! xxx

Hello everyone! Today's blog post is going to be my 'What I got for my 18th Birthday'. So my birthday was on Tuesday 3rd May and I officially became an adult (scary much!). I wasn't expecting anything for my birthday other than the jewellery which I chose myself a few weeks before. However, my parents surprised me with some more goodies. I just want to put a disclaimer out there, that i am in no way bragging or boasting, this post has been highly requested, so i'm doing it for you.

Firstly, like i said previously, the jewellery part of my presents I did actually know I was getting it as my grandma and mum took me shopping so i could chose what i wanted. I received the necklace from my grandma and the ring from my mum. (I have include some photos below of the actual jewellery). I am very grateful for these pieces as i know they were rather expensive.

The next present I received was a pandora voucher from my little brother, this was really sweet of him because he never normally gets people presents because he's young and doesn't earn any money. I was extremely surprised and i will be using it on a charm for my bracelet.

I also received the Naked 3 Palette by Urban Decay from my big sister, which i was again no way expecting as i was surprised she knew i wanted one. Thank you Bex for getting me this and i will be using it religiously over the upcoming months. (ps this is my first ever 'high end' makeup, which is super exciting).

My mum also got me some of the novelty's that we receive every year, which included a big badge to wear out;) and a keyring and champagne glass with '18' on it, which is really sweet and will be one of those things i treasure.

The last present I received, was the most unexpected and amazing thing ever! My dad surprised me with the new Macbook 12" in Rose Gold. This was unbelievable when i opened it because my dad used to always tell me he couldn't afford a Macbook because they are overpriced. For him to get me the NEW one that has just come out is amazing and i absolutely love it! THANK YOU DAD XX

That is everything i received, it isn't much but to me it is perfect. As we get older the presents get smaller and less and that is completely understandable. Thank you to all my family for everything you got me, i am ever so grateful!

Hello Everyone! it's day 4 of Blogmas! Today's post is my Christmas wish list, and before I start I just want to point out that no way do I expect to receive all or any of these products, I am completely grateful for everything I will receive on Christmas, these are just items that I have seen over the past year and have wanted, whether that be by my own account or by others.

ITEMS:
Firstly, after seeing all over tumblr the light up letters, I have decided I would love to have one in the letter 'L' for my room, I think they are really quirky and individual and would tie my room nicely together. The next thing is the naked 3 palette, which I have been loving for ages, I love the pink shades as I feel they really suit my look and would be perfect for the summer. The next item is an acrylic makeup holder, as I do much prefer these to the drawer separators, they are easier to get to as it would be placed on my dressing table.

I have also been drawn to the zoella beauty range this year and have had my eye on a few things including the huge makeup holder, and some of the bath fizz bars as I do love a good bubble bath, every time I go into Superdrug I give them a sniff:) Again, staying with the theme of youtuber products, Tanya Burr's range has drawn my attention especially the lip gloss in 'picnic in the park' and the bambi eyes eyelashes. I don't usually use eye lashes but I'd love to give them a try and I've heard good things from beginners using these. Something I have had my eye on for a while is the Rimmel London lipstick in 107, my sister has this shade and every time she has it on, I envy so bad, its a gorgeous pink/purple shade and its perfect for winter time.

Time for fashion now, and I haven't got much to do with fashion here, the only things I have are the Adidas superstars which are so over rated now but I love them so much, and I need new trainers, well at least that's what I keep telling myself. Alongside, I would love the central perk t-shirt which is sold almost every where, I see this top all over tumblr and we heart it and its made me want it super bad. I have also added a bobble hat to the mix, because my ears are forever getting cold in the winter, I'm not much of a hat person but I think I can pull it off.

Lastly, I know I will never ever receive this as a present and I am in no way expecting to ever in my life. I have included a MacBook into my wish list. I know, I know but I do have a good reason for wanting this. I am starting uni in September and I will need a decent laptop to do my work on, now I visited a uni the other day and when I was walking around I noticed everyone had a MacBook in their hands, I asked why that was and someone told me its because its so easy to use in lectures rather than a big clumpy laptop, it has great charge and is compatible with uni lecturers work. I could just be saying this in my head over and over, but I know I will never receive this so its just a dream for me.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, I will see you tomorrow!

Hello everyone, it's day 2 of Blogmas and I thought it was well due for a favourites post. Today I am doing my November favourites which include a mixture of beauty and lifestyle items. November for me was a month of stress and anxiety, mainly because of exams and uni interviews but I know I'm not the only one in this boat so lets just move on.

LIFESTYLE: when it came to choosing items for my favourites it was clear for me, as November has been a month of serious weather change and with the fast approaching Christmas day, of course I have been loving hot chocolates. Winter is the only time I will actually drink hot chocolate (I am more of a smoothie girl) so I have been making my own as I know exactly how milky I love it to be. The perfect hot chocolate for me is milky, marshmallows and whipped cream, however I have run out hence why the image is missing the whipped cream.

Now what goes better with a hot chocolate than movies. I am a massive movie girl, I love Disney films, action films and chick flicks. There has however been one film I have been watching over and over again and that is FROZEN. Yes I am aware of how over rated and hyped frozen has become but honestly what's better than having a hot chocolate, chilling out on the sofa and singing along to 'let it go', the answer simply is nothing, I know you all agree. I can definitely tell my love for movies recently will be coming along with me into the month of December.

BEAUTY: I have included majority of beauty products in this favourites post because simply I have been really getting into makeup recently, probably because of all the fabulous 3 for 2 deals in Superdrug, the urge to spend when my pay check comes through every month. The first item in my favourites is the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in 'eternal gold', I've spoken a lot about colour tattoos on my blog, but to be fair they are an amazing alternative for a powder eyeshadow and gold is the colour for autumn/winter in my eyes (see what I did there).

The next beauty item is again from Maybelline, its their BB cream which has been my lifesaver. I do have naturally dry skin so for me a foundation is a no go area in the makeup department, but I have been having bad skin recently so I've needed something to cover those damn spots and under eye circles. I had never thought about using a BB cream in the winter but it works just as well as when I use it in the summer. In conjunction with this I have been loving 2 brushes this month, one being the buffing brush by Real Techniques which is perfect for blending that BB cream deep into the skin and the second brush being a flat top brush which has been perfect for apply powder to the eye area ensuring all that concealer stays in place for the day.

The last 2 beauty items are similar in colour. I love red in the winter and have been loving so this November. The lipstick I have chosen today is Rimmel Kate Moss in 110 which is a bright red colour, perfect for that Christmas day makeup, stay tuned I will be doing a makeup look VERY soon. I feel the red goes well with almost everything in my winter wardrobe. The next item is nail varnish which is part of Collection's limited edition and its a red/pink sparkly shade which has a texture to it, it feels like sand paper but in a good way, its perfect for Christmas time. Most of the time I will be wearing this colour around Christmas.

That is my November Favourites, I hope you've enjoyed reading and I will see you tomorrow!

Halloween is less than 3 days away now and I don't know about you but my mum only buys our pumpkin a day before Halloween, I know, it's so annoying! However, it does give me plenty of time to decide what I am going to carve into my pumpkin. Ideas are endless and the frustration to find the best one is real, therefore below I have included a list of things you could carve your pumpkin into. I hope this helps some of you.

Design Ideas:

  • Scary Faces - as simple as this sounds, it can be the most effective looking thing on a pumpkin, the options for this are endless and the more you let your imagination run the better your pumpkin will look.
  • Characters - this can be anything from Disney characters, to typical Halloween including bats and witches. Have fun, pick wicked and wild things, let your imagination take over.
  • Patterns - if you're not into the whole Halloween being scary thing then finding a nice geometric or unusual pattern could be a nice idea, make it simple or make it intricate, it's completely up to you.
  • Your own face - it could be quite interesting if you were to carve a portrait of either yourself, a friend or a member of family. Make it fun and interesting by making them look scary or nice, depends what type of person you are:) (i'd make my family look scary!)
  • 'Sick' pumpkin - I love this idea, basically what you do is you carve a normal face of a pumpkin, making sure the mouth is open, and then you add the inner of the pumpkin as sick falling out of it's mouth. CLICK TO SEE AN EXAMPLE
There we have a few ideas on things to carve into your pumpkin this Halloween. I hope you guys enjoyed and if you carve a pumpkin this week, tag me in your picture on instagram (@hiyaimlouu), i'd love to see what you guys create! Stay safe this Halloween and don't be too scared!;)

Hello everyone, so i know i haven't posted in a while and that's because i've been away on holiday. If you can't tell from the title, i went to Turkey. I went for a week with my family where we stayed in a Holiday Village and if you're unsure as to what that is, it is basically an all inclusive hotel where there's unlimited food and drink and it includes daytime entertainment and evening entertainment. (basically it's a package holiday).

I thought i would share with you some images i took, i didn't take too many as the hotel was kid heaven so there was hundreds of children around and obviously you have to be super careful when taking photos. We also didn't adventure out of the hotel because of the fighting and terrorism within turkey/syria at the moment, so it was advised to stay within the resort.

We (meaning myself and my family) have been to turkey before but it was a few years ago so we decided to return and luckily for some i guess, Turkey was experiencing a heatwave at the time of our travels which meant the temperature was extremely hot basically an average of 38 degrees. Anyway so even though we didn't get to experience any of the Turkish culture outside the hotel, the hotel did really well with bringing it to us. There was lots of amazing Turkish food, for breakfast they had these Turkish doughnuts and oh my they were so nice. So to be honest this holiday wasn't the most adventurous but I still had a really good time chilling by the pool and meeting some lovely people both English and Turkish.

Thankyou to those of you who have actually read all that above, i do appreciate and i will have normal blog posts back next week (maybe this saturday). Please comment down below your favourite holiday destination as i'd love to know and maybe see about travelling places you guys recommend.

See you soooooon my lovees!

I think for me reading during the summer is a lot more relaxing and enjoyable than watching Netflix. I never thought i would say that but it's true, during the summer i love to try and read as many books as possible. Today i thought i would share with you some of my favourite summer reads.

The first book that i recommend reading this summer is 'The Women in Black' by Susan Hill, now i know the whole thing about whats better the film or the book, but honestly i haven't seen the film so i have no idea how similar it is to the book. However, the book itself is amazing and i wasn't able to put it down.

The second book that i think is something you guys should read is 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' by Stephen Chobsky. I know this book was quite popular last year but i have only just jumped on the band wagon and decided to read it. I can honestly say it lives up to its recommendations. A basic synoposis that is on the back of the book is below, for you guys to check out:

 Charlie is a freshman.

And while he's not the biggest geek in the school, he is by no means popular. Shy, introspective, intelligent beyond his years yet socially awkward, he is a wallflower, caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it.

Charlie is attempting to navigate his way through uncharted territory: the world of first dates and mix tapes, family dramas and new friends; the world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite. But he can't stay on the sideline forever. Standing on the fringes of life offers a unique perspective. But there comes a time to see what it looks like from the dance floor.

The last book that i recommend for this summer reads is 'The Vogue Factor' by Kirstie Clements. I was attracted to this book because of my sister, when i saw it in the pile of things she was throwing out, i was drawn to the front cover and from then on, i love the book as much as the front cover. Again, a basic synopsis that is on the back of the book is below, for you guys to check out:

Kirstie Clements, a girl from the wrong side of Sydney, tells of her audacious beginnings on the reception desk at the grand magazine and her rise to reigning editor for more than a decade.
In May 2012 Kirstie Clements was unceremoniously sacked after thirteen years in the editor's chair at Vogue Australia. Here she tells the story behind the headlines, and takes us behind the scenes of a fast-changing industry.
During a career at Vogue that spanned twenty-five years, Clements rubbed shoulders with Karl Lagerfeld, Kylie Minogue, Ian Thorpe, Crown Princess Mary, Cate Blanchett, and many more shining stars. From her humble beginnings growing up in the Sutherland Shire in Sydney to her brilliant career as a passionate and fierce custodian of the world's most famous luxury magazine brand, Clements warmly invites us into her Vogue world, a universe that brims with dazzling celebrities, fabulous lunches, exotic locales and of course, outrageous fashion.
Amidst the exhilaration and chaos of modern magazine publishing and the frenzied demands of her job, Clements is always steadfast in her dedication to quality. Above all, she is always Vogue.

That's all the books for this summer reads post, i hope you guys enjoyed reading and maybe are interested in reading some of these books for yourself, i'd love to know your favourite summer reads, so comment them below.

Long time, no speak my friends!

Today's post is a little different from anything I've ever done, its a how i battle dry skin, in hope that this helps some of you out there that have asked me questions on this topic.

So, I do suffer from dry skin, which is on my forehead, and little parts on my face. I haven't always suffered but last year, when I went on holiday I burnt really bad and ever since then my skin has been super dry. There's a few products/techniques that I use in order to not cure but control the problem, which are:

1. washing your face is a must!! you need to remove all bacteria and product from your face otherwise by adding cream on top, all you'll do is block your pores.

2. substituting foundation for a BB cream or CC cream. I find when I apply foundation it makes the problem 10x worse and I end up just removing it all. So, I use 'NYC BB cream' which is a very lightweight foundation/cream, it does give coverage but obviously not as much as a foundation but it can be paired with concealer to add some more coverage where needed.

3. cream, cream and more cream. As stupid as it sounds but the reason your skin is dry is because it has no moisture left in it, so ADD it back in. I use three different creams, all shown above. I use the 'Dove Cocoa Cream' before applying my makeup for the day. I use the 'Dirty Works Body Butter' at night and finally I use the 'Body Shop Body Lotion' once I've removed my makeup in the evening. So yes, I do use a lot of cream and I know for some people this won't work and will block pores, but my skins become used to this routine and actually benefits a lot from it.

There my main tricks and tips for battling the annoying little pest of dry skin, obviously this is for people that have lack of moisturized skin and not for people with eczema or any other medical skin condition, so if its a case of basic dry skin, definitely try these products, as i'd love to see if it works for anyone else in a similar situation.

How could you celebrate Easter without a chocolate cake? Todays post is a simple cake recipe, specifically decked out for the Easter celebration.

Ingredients and Measurements:

All my measurements are in oz's because i have a real old fashioned scale.

12 oz of self raising flour
12 oz of caster sugar
12 oz of baking butter/margarine
6 oz of coca powder
6 oz icing sugar
6 large eggs
3 packets of mini eggs
1 pot of Betty Crocker 'Chocolate Icing'
1 packet of chocolate fingers.

Recipe:

So, i used a basic cake recipe from my mum, but i made triple the amount because they're 3 cakes stacked together.

PRE HEAT YOUR OVEN, MINE WAS ON GAS MARK 6

CAKE
1. add the butter and sugar to a bowl, beat together until a creamy consistency.
2. add the eggs, one at a time and beat together until mixed.
3. sieve the flour in small portions and fold into the mixture using a metal spoon.
4. separate out 2 baking pans worth of mixture.
5. add coca powder to the remaining mixture and fold in well.
6. place all cake tins into the oven for around 15 minutes (time is different for all ovens)

INSIDE BUTTER CREAM
While the cakes are cooking, take 6 oz of butter and put into a bowl, gradually add icing sugar until preference with sweetness. This will be added to stick the cakes together later, once they have cooled.

Once the cakes have cooled, paste the butter cream between each layer and stack on top of each other making sure its straight. Leave to rest for about 5 minutes.

DECORATING
Take the icing from Betty Crocker and begin to place all over the cake, it needs to be a thick layer because we are going to use it as glue for our decorations. Once all the icing is used, leave to rest for 5 minutes.
Take the chocolate fingers and stick them around the outside of the cake, this is going to create out basket/gate. Then take the packets of mini eggs and place them all over the top of the cake, as many as preferred. I USED 3 PACKETS!

Leave to cool in the fridge for around 1 hour, this will give the icing time to harden.

EATING
THEN EAT THE WHOLE CAKE AND ENJOY IT, ITS EASTER!

I hope you enjoyed this post, its my first ever recipe/baking post and i really enjoyed making it. If you'd like to see more comment below and they'll definitely be some more in the future!

Keeping organised with blogging when having to deal with everyday life including college or school or even work, can be difficult. I've especially found it hard to keep on track with new blog posts. So i thought this post could be about how i keep up to date with blogging, as well as how i plan out my blog posts.

So, when on the go i always have blog post ideas come to me. So i carry round a 'Personal Organizer' and A4 notebook. The personal organizer was a gift so i'm not sure where it is from but i know you can get them pretty much everywhere. The notebook i have is from Cath Kidston and was around £10.

My notebook is where i write a list of potential blog posts including how i'm going to write and produce them. I like to write a step by step guide of what i'm going to include in the blog post as well as some ideas on what i want to write. The personal organizer is also used for personal things as-well, but inside there is a notes page, calender, and to do lists. This is generally where i write my stuff. I use the calender to write WHEN and HOW i'm going to write my blog posts, this helps me keep a deadline for when i want to post. I use the to do lists to write down any objects or things i may need for a blog post, this makes sure that i have everything i could possibly need (so i don't have to run into town to buy supplies).

Generally, these techniques and organisation books help me keep to a rota and fit in all my deadlines for blogging as well as college life, dancing, and my volunteering. As i am a VERY busy girl during the week.

I hope this helps you fellow bloggers who find it hard to keep organised with blogging. I'd love to hear about any tips you do, so leave some in the comments below.

A new year can mean a number of things for different people, maybe for you it means a new start, or continuing on the same as you were. No one can decide what you make of stepping into a new year but there's one thing i want you all to remember, and that is; you do what you want to do, do what makes you happy and make 2015 a year to remember!

Happy New Year! and i'll see you soon x

Hello everybody!

So I haven't posted in a while, and that's because I've been super busy preparing for my holiday (THAT'S TOMORROW) and college that I start in September. Anyway, recently I've been really into pamper evenings, treating myself to some luxuries:) so this post is all about my recent pamper evening! I hope you enjoy.

So to start my evening, I prepared my self a hot bubble bath, I used Soap and Glory's 'Calm One, Calm All' bubble bath. I put a few pumps of this pink liquid in and it began to bubble instantly, you can see below:

I filled the bath up full, as you can see from the picture above I have jets on the sides, and on the bottom of my bath, so I turned these on and it made the water bubble like crazy! i must admit it felt weird on my bumbum. So i took the plunge and got in to the boiling hot bath, below is some picture just of all the bubbles, because there was a lot!

I then thought, hmm its quiet in here, so I grabbed my iPhone and put on my all time favourite song right now..

I sat back and began to relax...

THEN, I used the Soap and Glory 'Foam Call' body wash, this makes my skin super soft and smells amazing!! I recommend for you all to go buy this:)

The last thing I needed to do to complete my paper evening, was my face. I used 2 of the Simple Skin Care products, as shown below: one's a toner and another is a cleansing lotion:

And that was the end of my pampering? is that a word?

I hope you enjoyed this post, I may post again tomorrow morning before I go away, but I'm not sure yet! I've left an image down below of all the products I used so you can check the names if you interested in buying. LOVE YOU XX
